Dear Fellow Parishioner:
It is with great pleasure that I am writing to let you know that your vestry has called The Reverend Dr. Carol J. Jablonski to be the Rector of St. Andrew's, College Park.
Rev. Jablonski is joining us from St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Durham, North Carolina, where she has served as the Curate and Associate Rector since 2006. Carol's background and experience are quite varied and she has many skills that will enhance her ministry with us. Carol has a warm and engaging personality and has many interesting ideas to share regarding our various ministries. We were all impressed with the insightful and thought-provoking questions she asked during our interview. The Search Committee, the Vestry and the Bishop all agreed that she is particularly well qualified to become the Rector of our healthy and vibrant parish and we are excited about her joining our parish community.
Carol attended Virginia Theological Seminary and was ordained to the priesthood in 2007. Before attending seminary, Carol spent 19 years as an Associate Professor of Communication at the University of South Florida. She earned her PhD in Communication from Purdue University.
Carol will be moving to the College Park area with her husband Tyler Jones and her cat, "Pookie." She will begin her ministry with us on Trinity Sunday, June 7, 2009.
Please join me in a prayer of thankfulness and gratitude for the hard work done by the Search Committee and the Vestry as we embark on the next chapter in the life of St. Andrew's Church.
Peace,
Daniel V. Ryan
Senior Warden
